NBN Local is a new business unit of NBN solely focused on meeting customer needs and raising the digital capability of regional and remote communities across Australia.
The creation of this new business unit, known as Regional Development and Engagement (RDE) addresses a key recommendation in the 2018 Regional Telecommunications Review and highlights our renewed focus on having people on the ground across five regions in QLD, Far North, North, Central, Wide Bay Burnett and Surrounds and Southern Queensland.
As part of these changes, the regional areas (North, Far North, Central, Wide Bay and Southern Queensland) have a dedicated NBN Local Team consisting of:
• A Community Engagement Manager who has responsibility for the overarching strategic approach and delivery to the region
• A Business Lead who will lead business engagement with councils and help small, medium and enterprise companies make the most of the NBN
• A Community Ambassador who has responsibility to assist residents and community groups with lifting their digital capability including NBN 101 session and individual connection issues.
